Program Description

The Center for Frontiers in Nuclear Science (CFNS) will organize a Summer School on the Physics of the Electron-Ion Collider to be held at Stony Brook University (SBU), USA, from June 1 to 12, 2026

This series of EIC Summer schools introduces students to all aspects of the EIC - science, detector, and collider challenges so that they can enter the exciting field of EIC physics at the QCD Frontier. We typically host & support 35 students for this school. The students of the school will have support for lodging for the duration of the school. Applications typically open in December, and the review of applications begins 20 January. The schools are held in person at Stony Brook University.

The school features lectures and tutorials on theoretical and experimental topics related to the physics of the EIC. Additionally, the school includes "hands-on" tutorial sessions. The school is ideally suited for postdocs and advanced graduate students in nuclear and particle physics.

APPLICATIONSThe review of applications will begin on  20 January 2026 and will continue until the roster is full

RESUME: Please upload a SHORT resume briefly describing your research background and projects.

REFERENCE LETTER: Please arrange for one SHORT recommendation letter to be uploaded to AJOL before 20 January 2026. This should BRIEFLY describe your coursework and research background relevant to the school. IMPORTANT: Be sure to notify your reference writer so they can upload the letter to AJOL.
