Program Description

We offer several 2-year post-doc positions in the field of Quantum Science and Technology in the Condensed Matter Group at SISSA, starting at latest in September 2023. The main PIs involved are M. Capone, M. Collura, G. Santoro and A. Silva. The research activities range from quantum information to quantum simulation of strongly interacting quantum systems.

Representative topics are the quantum simulation of SU(N) lattice fermions, quantum impurities, driven superconducting qbits and spin-systems in low dimensions, using different state-of-the-art methods (Tensor Networks, Dynamical Mean-Field Theory as well as analytical approaches), the development and study of novel algorithms (QAOA and other Variational Quantum Algorithms) for ground state preparation; mixed strategies based on machine learning, tensor-networks and Dynamical Mean-Field Theory for non-equilibrium many-body systems.
