The group of Dr Zlatko Papic at University of Leeds is currently seeking a talented and highly-motivated physics student to join a PhD project on the non-equilibrium physics of quantum many-body systems in the fall 2023.

The project focuses on topics such as quantum ergodicity and chaos, many-body localisation, quantum scars, topological order, etc. Our group explores these phenomena both in the context of condensed matter systems as well as ultracold atoms and quantum simulators. The project will focus on developing theoretical descriptions of such systems as well as numerical modelling via exact diagonalisation and tensor network techniques. For more details, see the application page.

The position comes with a competitive 3.5 Year PhD Studentship, which covers academic fees and maintenance grant. For further details about the funding availability, please see the application page.
