Galician Institute of High Energy Physics, IGFAE, at the University of Santiago
de Compostela, Spain, invites expressions of interest for the PhD Program on
Particle and Nuclear Physics. This is a broad program that spans all subjects
of interest of the Institute, including High Energy experimental and
theoretical physics, Astroparticle Physics and Cosmology and Nuclear Physics

of records The admission follow the official rules of the University of Santiago de Compostela, in particular, a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Physics or related areas are required, please consult full details in https://www.usc.gal/en/studies/doctoral-programme/science/doctoral-programme-nuclear-and-particles-physics. Secondments
in different research centres including CERN and GSI/FAIR, a mentoring program,
and formation courses and schools are envisaged. Help for the bureaucratic
formalities and a welcome pack are available. Former PhD students have had
successful careers as postdocs in top research centres (CERN, GSI, EPFL,
Nikhef, Imperial College, BNL, JLab…) or outside academia. The IGFAE The scientific
research of the Institute is organized around three areas that are the basis for the strategic planning: The
Standard Model to the Limits, Cosmic Particles and Fundamental Physics, and
Nuclear Physics from the Lab to improve people’s health. A transversal line has been created recently
to discuss the strategy for new opportunities in the field of international
facilities. In addition, IGFAE activity is divided into an experimental and a
theory section. IGFAE
financial support is available for a limited number of applicants. PhD students
will also receive administrative and scientific support to apply to EU,
national and regional grants. IGFAE
offers training in soft skills is to enhance future employability and career
success of our researchers including technology transfer, entrepreneurship,
dissemination, and equity/diversity perspective. IGFAE is
