Temple University, Electrical and Computer Engineering
The College of Engineering at Temple University is searching for an outstanding individual to join the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. A full-time non tenure track position is also available for qualified candidates who plan to build their research and teaching portfolio.
Candidates specializing in all ECE areas will be considered. Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or closely related fields. Successful candidates are expected to establish active externally funded research programs and to achieve excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Salaries for new faculty are highly competitive, and substantial resources have been allocated for start-up funding.
The College of Engineering is located at Temple University's main campus, in the thriving city of Philadelphia, a city at the forefront of science and technology. Philadelphia is also the second largest city on the east coast and home to historic events, such as the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Temple University, founded in 1888, is one of the nation's distinguished comprehensive universities with an enrollment of 39,000, and is an invaluable asset for the intellectual, economic, and social enrichment of Pennsylvania.
The College is strengthening its doctoral, master's, and ABET accredited undergraduate degree programs, and the new faculty members are expected to be instrumental in this process. The Department currently has 16 full time faculty, 350 undergraduate students, and 60 graduate students, and offers academic programs leading to ABET accredited BSEE, MSEE and a College-wide PhD degree. The Department has a growing funded research program with external funding from various federal and industrial sources including NSF, ONR, NASA, and DARPA.
