The Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology (INSAIT) is a world-class AI research institution, created in partnership with Switzerland’s ETH Zurich and EPFL, located in Sofia, Bulgaria. Founded in 2022, INSAIT is backed by nearly US$100 million from the Bulgarian Government, along with generous support from Google, Amazon Web Services, DeepMind, Тoyota, SiteGround, VMware, and vivo among others. INSAIT hosts the first ELLIS Unit in Eastern Europe and is closely advised and supervised by top academics from some of the most elite U.S., European, and Israeli universities and research labs. In just 3 years, INSAIT has established itself as leading global hub for AI research, with 130+ papers published at world’s top AI conferences, including ICCV (14 papers in 2025), CVPR, and NeurIPS. The institute has rapidly grown to a vibrant community of 70+ researchers representing more than 20 nationalities.
