The Department of Computer Science has 1100 undergraduate majors and 190 graduate students in our masters and Ph.D. programs as of Fall 2022. The department has experienced a 119% increase in women undergraduate CS students and a 100% increase in women graduate students, supported by a Northeastern Center for Inclusive Computing best practices grant. The department’s 20 tenure-track faculty are strong in research programs in algorithms, artificial intelligence, big data, bioinformatics, computer vision, distributed systems, networks, parallel computing, security, and software engineering.
