The Institute for Theoretical Physics of the Albert Einstein Center for Fundamental Physics at the University of Bern expects to have two PhD position available, starting in October 2020 at the earliest. The position is for three years, possibly with a one-year extension.
The faculty at the institute consists of Thomas Becher, Matthias Blau, Gilberto Colangelo, Jean-Pierre Derendinger, Admir Greljo, Christoph Greub, Martin Hoferichter, Mikko Laine, Susanne Reffert, Urs Wenger and Uwe-Jens Wiese. Research areas include collider physics, effective field theories, thermal field theory, flavour physics, lattice field theory, string theory and supersymmetry. The PhD work will be carried out in the groups of Gilberto Colangelo and Martin Hoferichter (low-energy hadronic and nuclear physics, ChPT and dispersion relations, muon g-2).
