Program Description
The Institute for Theoretical Physics of the Albert Einstein Center for Fundamental Physics at the University of Bern expects to have PhD positions available in the following research areas: A.) Resummation for jet processes at the LHC (research group of Thomas Becher) B.) Strong interaction at low energy, Muon g-2 and the role of isospin-breaking corrections (research group of Gilberto Colangelo) C.) Hadronic contributions to muon g-2 from lattice Quantum Chromodynamics (research group of Urs Wenger) D.) Study of multi-hadron systems, including exotic unstable hadrons, from Lattice Quantum Chromodynamics (research group of Fernando Romero-López) Starting Date will be September 1st or October 1st 2024. Applicants must have a Master’s degree in theoretical physics (completed at least 1 month prior to the starting date) and strong motivation to pursue an academic career in theoretical physics. Applicants must also indicate for which of the three projects listed above they are applying (it is possible to indicate more than one project). This is a required question, and if it is not answered, the application will be considered incomplete. Priority will be given to applications submitted before June 24, 2024.Application Materials Required:
