Stephen and Janet Bear Post Baccalaureate Fellowship in Ethics The Bear Fellowship enables recent Duke graduates to use their passion to shape new and existing work and outreach of the Kenan Institute for Ethics. This unique opportunity allows for exploration of meaningful career paths and fosters interdisciplinary thought and productive problem-solving across disciplines.

The Fellow is responsible for shaping new and existing work and outreach at the Kenan Institute for Ethics, including working with a team to support a range of student and community programs including:

•Student facing programs including Project Change pre-orientation program, Team Kenan, the Ethics and Global Citizenship Living Learning Community, FOUCS, as well as a range of projects related to Purpose.

•Community-facing programs including Ethics of Now, Project Citizen, etc.

•Family events and student outreach opportunities including Parent’s weekend, graduation, majors fair, student activities fair, etc.

•Tracking efforts to evaluate and recommend improvements for student representation and access, particularly for first gen, low income, BIPOC or other underrepresented students at Duke.

An important aspect of the Bear fellowship is the opportunity to develop projects in a specific area of interest. The Fellow will work with a supervisor to curate a plan for this work.
