The Valencia Experimental Group on Astroparticle Physics (VEGA, https://km3net.ific.uv.es/) at the Instituto de Fı́sica Corpuscular (IFIC - CSIC/University of Valencia, Spain) invites applications for one PhD position starting in 2024, to join the KM3NeT Collaboration on searches for high energy cosmic neutrino sources in a multi-messenger fashion.

The successful candidate must hold a Masters’ degree in Physics at the time of the incorporation, preferably with specialization in the astro-, particle or high-energy physics areas. Prior knowledge of analysis tools such as ROOT, C++ and Python will be appreciated, as well as a good command of English communication skills. The work will consist of analysis and interpretation of data collected with the KM3NeT neutrino telescope. The successful candidate will develop their analysis framework, participate in academic activities and present novel results to the collaboration and outside. They will also contribute to the data taking and help in the construction and calibration of both the ORCA and ARCA KM3NeT detectors.

Interested candidates are invited to submit their application, including a cover letter, curriculum vitae and copies of their university degrees. They should also arrange for two letters of recommendation to be sent on their behalf. Applications should be sent preferably before 30/11/2023; later applications will be considered until the positions are filled. Selected candidates are expected to join the group in 2024.
